You Deserve Care, Too.
Compassionate, specialized treatment for pregnant and postpartum mothers—so you can feel like yourself again while staying close to your baby.
Maternal Mental Health Program
Bring Your Baby.
We'll Care for Them While You Get Care Too.
You should not have to choose between getting help and being there for your baby. Our Maternal Mental Health Program is postpartum depression and anxiety treatment built around that fact. If your baby is under one, they are welcome in group with you. At any age up to four, they can stay with our specialized childcare staff in the nursery just down the hall. You will hear them if they need you.
Sessions run mornings only, Monday through Thursday, so you are home by lunch.

Does This Sound Like You?
Most mothers who call us have been talking themselves out of it for months. See whether any of this lands.
If you recognized yourself in even one of those, you are not broken and you are not failing at motherhood. You are describing symptoms. Symptoms respond to treatment.
This Is More Than the Baby Blues
Roughly the first two weeks after birth bring mood swings, tearfulness and exhaustion for most women. That usually lifts on its own. Postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety are different. They last longer, they weigh more, and they start interfering with sleep, eating, bonding and the ordinary business of getting through a day.
This is a real medical condition, not a character flaw and not something you caused. The biological shifts, hormonal changes and total rearrangement of daily life that come with a new baby can trigger genuine psychological distress. It responds well to treatment, and the sooner it is treated, the shorter the road back.
It can also start well before delivery or long after. Postpartum depression is not restricted to the first few months, which is why our program serves mothers from pregnancy through four years after birth.
What Makes This Program Different
Your Baby Comes With You
Childcare is the single most common reason mothers put off treatment. We removed it. Mothers with babies under one are encouraged to keep them in group. For older children, or for the days when you need both hands and a clear head, the nursery is right down the hall.
On-Site Nursery Care
Our on-site nursery serves children from newborn through four years old and is staffed by childcare providers in a dedicated room a few steps from your session. It is not a favor we extend when we can. It is part of the program.
Mornings Only, Four Days a Week
Groups run Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Concentrated clinical support, and your afternoons stay yours.
It Doesn't Feel Like a Doctor's Office
Our Fresno facility at 1791 E. Fir Ave., Suite 102 has a separate entrance, a private waiting room and dedicated childcare rooms. You will not sit in a general medical lobby holding a car seat.
Therapists Who Specialize in Motherhood
Every client works with an individual therapist whose focus is motherhood, postpartum conditions and maternal mental health specifically. Not a generalist who also sees new moms.
What a Morning Here Looks Like
Knowing the shape of the day takes some of the fear out of the first one.
You arrive by 9:00 and settle your baby, either with you or in the nursery. The morning runs on group work, with a break in the middle, and your individual therapy and psychiatric appointments scheduled into the week around it. You leave at noon. If your baby is in the nursery and needs you, you are a few steps away and staff will come get you.

Care and Services
Recovery takes an integrated therapeutic approach, which is why each client is supported by a full care team rather than a single provider. Every part of your emotional, physical and practical health gets attention at the same time, from people who understand maternal mental health.
- Individual Therapy. Counseling tailored to the emotional hurdles of early motherhood, aimed at building resilience that lasts past discharge.
- Group Therapy . Time with other mothers who are living the same thing. Most clients tell us this is the part that ends the isolation.
- Psychiatric Care. Weekly medication evaluation and management if needed. Medication is a conversation, not a requirement, and your preferences and safety come first at every step.
- Case Management. Practical advocacy that handles the administrative weight - coordinating your healthcare, working through housing resources, and staying with you through the process.
- Intensive Outpatient Program. Structured, multi-day clinical support built for meaningful symptom relief without a residential stay.
Take The Next Step Towards Healing
We offer support for a wide range of mental health conditions. No single case is exactly like the other and our team of seasoned and compassionate clinicians are ready to help you or your loved one find a path to success.

Who the Program Is For
This speciality care program works as a primary level of care or as a step down from a higher one. It is a fit if you are pregnant or up to four years postpartum and weekly therapy is not enough right now. You do not need an existing diagnosis to call. You do not need a referral. If you are not sure whether you qualify, that is exactly what the assessment is for.
Common Questions
Recovery takes an integrated therapeutic approach, which is why each client is supported by a full care team rather than a single provider. Every part of your emotional, physical and practical health gets attention at the same time, from people who understand maternal mental health.
Can I really bring my baby?
Recovery takes an integrated therapeutic approach, which is why each client is supported by a full care team rather than a single provider. Every part of your emotional, physical and practical health gets attention at the same time, from people who understand maternal mental health.
What if my baby cries during group?
Then your baby cries during group. Every mother in that room has been there. If you would rather step out or use the nursery, both are available at any point.Â
Who is watching my child?
Specialized childcare providers in a dedicated nursery room down the hall from your session, not a waiting area and not a volunteer.
I’m having thoughts that scare me. Will telling you put my child at risk?
Unwanted, intrusive thoughts about harm coming to your baby are one of the most common symptoms of postpartum anxiety, and they distress mothers precisely because they run against everything she wants. Clinicians who specialize in maternal mental health are trained to understand this. Saying it out loud to someone who treats it every day is one of the most useful things you can do, and your clinician can walk you through exactly how confidentiality works in your situation during the assessment.
Do I have to take medication?
No. Psychiatric care is available and reviewed weekly, and whether you use it is your decision. Many clients do well without it.
I’m still pregnant. Is this program for me?
Yes. The program covers pregnancy through four years postpartum.
What about breastfeeding?
Bring it up at your assessment. Feeding, sleep and medication all interact, and your care team plans around what you are actually doing rather than around a default.
Does insurance cover this?
Yes. We accept most private insurance plans, and many insurance carriers provide coverage for outpatient mental health care at this level.
How long does the program last?
Typical length of stay in our program is 6 weeks to 6 months, and sometimes longer. Exact lengths are dependent on client requests and insurance approval.
If You Need Help Right Now
If you are having thoughts of harming yourself or your baby, if you are seeing or hearing things others do not, or if you feel confused, paranoid or unable to sleep at all for several days, please treat this as urgent. Call 911 or reach the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by dialing 988. Postpartum psychosis is rare, it is a medical emergency, and it is treatable.
For free, confidential support at any hour, the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline is available at 1-833-852-6262 by call or text.
