Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Track
Structure. Support. Real Change.
At Sierra Meadows Behavioral Health, we understand that some people need more than general support—they need a different kind of roadmap. That’s why we offer a comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Treatment Track designed for individuals who struggle with intense emotions, self-destructive patterns, or interpersonal chaos.
Whether it’s repeated relationship conflict, difficulty controlling reactions, or feeling completely overwhelmed by painful emotions, DBT offers a structured way forward.
A DBT Program That Goes Deeper
While Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is one of the many therapeutic approaches we integrate across our levels of care, our DBT Treatment Track offers something more: a fully immersive, specialized program designed for individuals who need consistent, structured DBT at every touchpoint of their treatment day.
Unlike traditional DBT implementation—which may include weekly groups or individual sessions—this track provides daily DBT skills groups, weekly individual or family therapy, and access to real-time phone coaching from 8 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week. Every element is grounded in the DBT model and delivered by clinicians specifically trained in its full application.
Here’s what’s included:
- Weekly Individual Therapy or Family Therapy
- Daily DBT Group Therapy focused on skill-building and real-life application
- Coaching Support & Phone Coaching, available daily from 8 AM to 10 PM
- Crisis Intervention and Safety Planning integrated into the treatment process
This isn’t a one-size-fits-all model. We pair each client with a dedicated treatment team and build a schedule tailored to their unique needs and emotional challenges.

Diagnoses Treated in the DBT Track
This specialized DBT track is designed for individuals navigating complex emotional and behavioral symptoms that often require more than traditional outpatient support. It’s an ideal fit for clients who present with high emotional reactivity, chronic interpersonal conflict, or a history of repeated hospitalizations or treatment dropouts. We frequently work with individuals who meet criteria for:
- Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
- Other Personality Disorders
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Depression & Anxiety
- Self-Harm or Suicidal Thoughts
- Co-Occurring Mental Health Diagnoses
Whether you’re a referring provider, case manager, or clinician seeking a higher level of care for your client, our DBT track offers a structured, evidence-based environment with the flexibility and clinical sophistication needed to support meaningful change.

The Four Core DBT Skill Areas We Focus On
Our DBT groups are structured around the foundational DBT skill sets—offering more than just talk therapy. Clients learn actionable strategies they can use immediately:
🧠 Emotional Regulation
Learn how to understand and name your emotions, reduce emotional vulnerability, and shift out of extreme mood states.
🔥 Distress Tolerance
Build the ability to survive painful moments without making things worse. These skills help manage crises, urges, and overwhelm.
💬 Interpersonal Effectiveness
Develop communication tools to ask for what you need, set boundaries, and navigate conflict with less damage and more clarity.
🧘 Mindfulness
Strengthen your ability to stay grounded, observe thoughts without judgment, and reduce automatic reactions to stress.
What Makes Our DBT Track Different
Our DBT program is immersive, relational, and grounded in lived experience. Here’s how we do it differently:
- Daily DBT groups that focus on practical, in-the-moment application
- A fully trained DBT team—clinicians who actually live and breathe the model
- Phone coaching from 8 AM–10 PM, because emotional crisis doesn’t follow a 9–5 schedule
- Therapists certified in trauma-informed care and experienced in treating co-occurring conditions
- Flexible care levels, including PHP, IOP, and outpatient pathways, so clients can engage at the right intensity for their needs
Real-World Skills and Support in Our DBT Treatment Track
We know that healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Emotional growth must be supported by practical tools and real-life structure—that’s why our DBT Treatment Track offers comprehensive care that extends beyond the therapy room.
Family and Couples Therapy
We help strengthen the relationships that matter most. Through dedicated family therapy
clients and their loved ones learn to communicate more effectively, navigate emotional triggers, and rebuild trust. These sessions create a shared understanding that fosters long-term healing at home.
Crisis Intervention and Safety Planning
When emotions become overwhelming, having a plan makes all the difference. Our team provides crisis support and safety planning, helping clients identify early warning signs, develop coping strategies, and stay safe during difficult moments—whether inside or outside of treatment.
Case Management and Real-World Support
Mental health recovery involves more than managing symptoms—it includes managing life. Our case management services help clients with school or work coordination, housing stability, connecting to outpatient care, and building a bridge from treatment into lasting independence.
A Message From Our Clinical Team
We created this track because we saw how many people were falling through the cracks of traditional therapy. They weren’t unmotivated—they were overwhelmed, misunderstood, and stuck in patterns they didn’t know how to break.
Our DBT track is a response to that. It’s structured, supportive, and built around the belief that people can change when they’re given the right tools and the right kind of care.
